"Underground Marketer Comes Out of the Trenches to Share How She Finds Sizzling Niches Without Spending a Fortune!"

From: Isabella "Niche Lady" Murphy, The Staying Paid Diva

To: You! Yes, you, you, wonderful you!

Let me ask you a question – do you know what the purpose of a warrior is? When I ask most people what the purpose of a warrior is, they give me some pretty standard answers – dispatching people, defending home territory, and even "flip out and kill people" (I think those people have been watching a little too many ninja movies, but I digress).

The real purpose of a warrior, regardless of nation or weapon involved, is to get from one side of the battlefield to the other. That’s it, no "secret" there.

In your business, you’re a warrior too, and your mission is to get from one side of the battlefield (ground zero, starting from scratch) to the other (watching your product or service change lives, put money in your pocket, and boost your reputation!)

So why is it that so many people have the same problem? They don’t know where to get started online. The common answer given to them is "pick a niche and develop a product or service in it" – a mighty good answer, might I add … if you were talking to someone who’s been around the block a few times. If your brain fogs over at "pick a niche", I’m talking to you!

Birth of the Mini-sode (and why you want one)

If you are a Rescue Me fan, you know that they are running Mini-episodes to keep fans pacified until full shows are ready…in 2009. Yeah, I don’t know if I will still be a fan by then. I really hate the Soprano TV schedule- you know, 4 shows a year type of thing. To stay in the news and keep fans from completely falling away they are creating short 10 minute shows. What you might not realize is, these shows have MAJOR product placement going on. I write more on this as I see the show and TIVO them, maybe I’ll even have a contest on it.

Mini-episodes are being tried out by other brands too. They are made to look like TV Shows but serve to keep certain products in your face the entire time. TBS’s Commuter Confidential is all about dating and make up. They women talk about meeting people on Match.com while applying their Revlon makeup. Will people notice? Marketers will, if it’s done really well, the audience will not. Ben Mack says if you can tell it’s marketing, you’re not doing it right. Or something like that.

My question to you is… Which TV show would be PERFECT for your product and how would they use it on the show?

How to Save Up to 1 Hour a Day!

There are a few things that can help any business save time, move fast and smoother. Here’s my short list:

  1. Check lists    I love check lists. Even though  I have taped over 250 shows, I always have a check list for each show BEFORE I get to the studio
  2. Templates    each invitation has a template which is quickly customized with the name of the guest and the tape date
  3. Plan your day       Planning my day makes sure I have enough time to get everything done.
  4. Use a Timer   Occasionally I use a timer to see how long tasks actually take. Then I can plan my day better. If I know a tast usually takes 15 minutes, I can fit it into a 15 minute slot of what would have been down time.
  5. Proper Delegation   By delegating the right tasks to the right person, you move a lot faster.

Did I miss anything? Whats your favorite time saver?
