For a young startup business, every penny saved is a penny earned. Money becomes very dear and the thought of splurging for an office is unthinkable. Yet, it’s necessary to meet clients and put on a professional front. That’s where serviced offices come in.

1. The Right Address

For just a few dollars a month, you can actually obtain an office at a good business address, which is bound to impress any client. You can use the serviced office address in your business cards and letterheads for as long as you use the office.

2. Third-party Administration

Serviced offices are fully-furnished and equipped with all the tools and staffs you need to run your business. All you have to do is move in; everything is managed by the serviced office administration, including your calls, correspondence, filling and maintenance.

3. Add-on Facilities

The best part of a serviced office is that you can pay for add-on facilities and services as you require them. For example, if you need a conference room for a couple of days, you can rent it from the administration for that period only, saving you tons of cash.

4. Low Financial Commitment

You get access to the internet, utilities, office furniture, filing cabinets, computers, printers, fax machines and more without having to buy any of these. Compare this to renting a new office and furnishing it yourself.

5. Out-of-office Services

You can travel without having to close the office. The office administration will take care of your calls, handle your client enquiries, take messages and sort out your correspondence. This keeps your business ongoing and gives a positive impression of to clients.

6. Brand Tailoring

You can custom-tailor your office space with your brand’s logo, brand messaging and colors. Branding gives your business an additional edge, making your business more recognizable.

7. Flexible Expansion

As your business grows, you can increase your office size and hire your own staff, without the hassle or long-term commitment. Conversely, it’s easy to downsize as well if needed. The utilities are included in your rent, so you won’t be losing out on those if you downsize.

8. Networking Opportunity

A single serviced office block can house several companies. It’s a good chance for startups to meet other like-minded business people and network. You can pick up new clients and leverage your contacts to expand your business.

9. Flexible Locations

Sign up with a large serviced office provider and you can choose your office location based on your needs. For example, you might want to locate near the city center to avail parking and transport or near the airport if your clients are mostly international.

10. Qualified Staff and Tools

Apart from the regular staff, you can ask the serviced office administration to provide qualified, technical staff for specific projects. You can also access expensive software tools for projects as well. This facility provides a great advantage especially when you’re strapped for cash.

How to Promote Your Business Online

How to Promote Your Business Online

by Jon Solomon

Once you’ve invested in a high quality web design from a company like Eadetech, it’s important to ensure that you invest substantially in promoting the site.  Needless to say, a website that sits on a server and is never used is largely a waste of time!  Here, then, are some effective ways to help promote your company online.

Network.  In almost any sector, there are different businesses that can work together.  If your company offers a service that links well with another’s, then get in contact with them and ask if they’d be interested in setting up a referral system.  To use an example close to home, if you’re a web design company then you can build relationships with copywriters – they provide the text, you provide the site design.  This is a great way to build the amount of enquiries that you get.

Get your site listed.  There are a whole host of sites that people visit in order to find services, with everything from local plumbers to SEO companies listed there.  You should get your own company on these sites.  Some of the most popular include Yell.com, Yelp, Scoot, ThomsonLocal and Google local.

Use SEO.  Some people get put off by the idea of SEO simply because it can often mean outsourcing an agency, which not everyone likes doing.  However, it’s actually possible to carry out SEO work by yourself – as long as you’re prepared to invest a bit of time.  In fact, SEO is one of the main forms of marketing that can be done technically for free, once the site is set up.  Get onto a site like Moz, which offers literally everything you could possibly need to start pushing your website up the rankings.

Broadcast.  The web offers a great amount of scope for broadcasting your services.  It’s now possible to create and post videos on YouTube designed to both help potential customers as well as making them aware of what it is you do.  If you’re an online retailer, then you can create videos reviewing products, and if you run in a B2B format then it’s possible to create videos offering information on your sector.  You can also look at creating podcasts.

Use e-mail.  Whilst e-mail spam is deservedly treated with the contempt it deserves, that doesn’t mean that a genuine e-mail campaign can’t benefit your website.  As long as you provide those on your mailing list with genuine useful content, there’s a lot to be said for this area of promotion.  Obviously, you should never send e-mails to those who haven’t joined your mailing list: that is spam.

How to effectively use credit cards in business

by Ross Tav

An entrepreneur must use credit and use it wisely. With credit cards, the business owner can enjoy plenty of benefits without much risk. Here is a quick guide for listing the benefits of using a credit card for a business.

Cash flow

When running a company, one must understand the importance of solid cash flow. In fact, this is the most important financial aspect of a small business. With a credit card, one can pay for goods and services future. Remember, when receiving the bill, a person has up to three weeks to make the payment without paying any interest.

Points

A credit card company usually offers cash back or points. For a big spender, the points can add up quickly. The great thing about rewards programs is that there are plenty of options. A business owner can collect airline miles via an Avios Credit Card, gift certificates to a store or even get cold hard cash. Over the months and years, this can add up to thousands of dollars in free stuff. Without a doubt, this is one of the greatest benefits to using credit, especially when a customer considers that he or she will spend money regardless of which method they use.

Interest free

When a company needs to make a large purchase, they often do not have the funds on hand. Luckily, many banks and finance companies offer customers zero percent interest credit cards. Usually, the company will offer this for a set period. Over time, this can save the company hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in finance charges. Remember, one must make the minimum payment while carrying an interest free loan from the credit card company.

Security

When using a check or debit card, one will not enjoy much security. On the other hand, with a credit card, a consumer can shop online or in person without fear. This is a serious benefit as many companies have experienced fraud and have paid dearly. One must realize that when using other methods they will not recover their funds until after the investigation. With credit cards, the consumer will not be on the hook for the charges provided the charges were fraudulent.

Warranty

In trying to attract more business, some of the major issuers will extend the warranty for a product. In offering this, the bank will usually add one or two years to the manufacturers warranty. This is a nice benefit for a company that buys expensive electronic equipment. Remember, without protection, one will have problems getting their broken item repaired or replaced.

When used wisely, credit cards can help a business owner organize his or her finances and make more money. Fortunately, a new entrepreneur should have no trouble using credit wisely.
