By Eric Yin
With the Vinyl Cutting Plotter, considered an essential tool for every signage business as well as the tool of choice for hobbyists using it to cut car window decorations and art pieces, Advanced Machinery (Pty) Ltd., operating out of Johannesburg, South Africa has today announced their vector file collection sharing with users free of charge.
Eric Yin, the company’s spokesperson who has made the announcement, says they are now inviting interested persons to download their vector files and import them into their favourite design software like CorelDRAW, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator.
“The collection is a great compliment to the computer-controlled vinyl cutters, which are very easy to use, cut fast and works like a printer,” says Eric, adding that the Windows XP and Windows 7 compatible (32bit and 64bit) vinyl cutters also come packaged with free professional Artcut Cutting Plotter control software.
According to the leading vinyl cutters supplier most of the vinyl cutters on the market today are designed to cut all vector designed file formats from such programs as CorelDRAW, AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator. “Computer designed vector files, with patterns and letters, can be directly cut on the roll of vinyl which you have mounted and fed into the vinyl cutter, through USB or serial cable,” says Eric. “Artcut software, included in the vinyl cutter package, is designed to control the vinyl cutter for cutting all design files. With vinyl generally having a lifespan of five years before colours start fading, Eric notes is perfect for making signage and creating window decorations.
Vector files are great for CNC cutting and engraving machines to produce high quality cut-outs and 2D engraving. Eric says that in comparison to a bitmap image, a vector file can be enlarged an unlimited amount of times without losing quality. Eric, who has reiterated his call for interested persons to download their vector files and import them into their favourite design software like CorelDRAW, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, says they have now made their vector file collection free of charge to all vinyl cutter users.
