Why The Zone Isn't What You Think

We all have had the Zone. I am not talking about the Zone where everything works perfectly all day, everyone’s skin is sparkly and mom serves you pie after dinner. I am talking about the “I-don’t-feel-like-working-zone”.

Your success in business depends on your ability to navigate that zone. Guess what. No one has the answer to that question except you. Do not spend money on courses that promise to help you get over your
procrastination. Here are a few tips to figure out what to do.

1)      Check and see if it’s the same time every day. I have a natural energy slump between 2 and 4 pm. This is when I will go to the post office, pick up the mail at my physical office, run errands, or just switch to doing
personal items.

2)      Check and see if a healthy snack and break will get you back on track. I wrote in another post about patting yourself on the back. Take a break and really look at how much you get done.

3)      Check and see if it’s a task you just hate doing. It’s time to bring in some help. Get a VA or delegate it to an intern. Just get it off your plate. I use all three of these strategies.

What do you do when you just don’t
want to work anymore?
