Why SEO is Good For Your Business
When you start a new business or even if you have a well-established business, you need an online presence. An online presence puts you out in front of the whole world whether you’re targeting locally or not. When you have a website, your potential customers can get a good feel on your company and receive a lot of information from it.
After you have created a website, you must tweak it to be shown on your targeted keywords when people search for you in Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. This practice is called search engine optimizing (SEO). There are tons of factors when it comes to SEO that you must accomplish to get your website up on top of search engines for your specific keywords.
When I started my business, Advance Junk Removal, I researched online how to get my website to the top. The first thing I focused on was content. As of 2013, content is still king. Search engines love when you add new content to a website because they get a feel that you are keeping your website updated. Also, when you add good, unique content, other people will find it and will spread the word about your site.
When adding new content to your website you need to focus on a few keywords for that page. For instance, my latest blog post was about hauling debris from a garage in Atlanta. What I did was I optimized the page so when someone searches the keywords “hauling debris from a garage in Atlanta” they will find me pretty close to the top. The cool thing about search engines is that they know what you are searching for. For example, if I were to change the word debris to junk, my article will still pull up.
Using social media these days is a fantastic way to get your content out there. I personally use Facebook, Twitter and Google +. Every time I publish a new article, I post it on these social networking sites and I will get hits back to my website. If people like the content I written, they will retweet or repost my originally post. Google loves social signals that point back to your website.
