I have the pleasure of being a guest on Kim Coles new Blog Talk Radio show! I shared about Networking and Small Business and we had a lot of fun. Kim is NOT Sinclair, but the fact that you remember her as Sinclair from the Hit TV Show Liviig Single with Queen Latifah, means, she is a really good actress!

What I find is a thoughtful woman, who is exploring the opportunity to share her spirituality and G.I.F.T.S. with those she comes in contact with.

Here are the notes from What I talked about on the show. You don’t have to give me your email address to get them, but if you like what you see and hear, then sign up for the Wright Place TV Show newsletter. j0443260 Networking Tips:

  1. Introduce yourself and just talk about One of your businesses. Think about where you are and what that group would be interested in and save the last for later. When you start off telling someone a laundry list of what you do and they are unrelated, it just confuses people.
  2. Find out what the person really does. People offer me a lot of health related opportunities. I turn them down, not because I am not a doctor ( I am a Chiropractic Physician) , I turn them down because my focus is small business right now. Anyone who is unaware of that is not paying attention.
  3. Fast Networking will help you gather a lot of contacts in a short period of time. Don’t ask for the sale at that time.
  4. Slow Networking will help you create in depth relationships that turn into partnerships and business deals.
  5. Networking should be just ONE of the ways you market.
  6. Network with an end goal in mind, a result you want to see at the end of the night.
  7. Networking is not a word of mouth campaign.
  8. Always have your cards with you, even if it’s just your name and phone number. Cards with your photo help even more.
  9. Look at your rate of return on your networking. If you have been attending certain events for more than 6 months and nothing has come of it, re-think your involvement.

Bonus Tip- be open minded when you come to an event. I was introduced to Publicist by an 8 year old. See   the post  Princess J and Kay for whole story on that! Register of the High Tea Here! http://wrightplacetv.com/2010-high-tea/
