February's Note

The Notes are usually longer and I post them online instead of in an email. February is a short month however it was jam packed for me personally.

I managed to keep travel down to one over-nighter. I went to Joel Bauer’s Event in Los Angeles. It was great and I got to connect again with a few people who are attending the High Tea

Speaking of High Tea, you can see an updated list of who is attending on the website right now. Anyways, I got some great ideas I will be putting into place this week.

The big take away for this month is repositioning yourself for your customer. That means we have to know who our customer is today, not who we used to sell to. Yes, the economy has changed, however buyers are still out there. We need to know how to connect to the needs they have now. It is not longer what we used to do. You just cannot do what you used to do. You have to really bring value and service.

One industry I am watching is the motivational speaker industry. They have been hit hard by recession and people who used to sell $20K plus programs are selling stuff for $10 a month. What happened? Many never gave any real value except making people feel good. People are not longer willing to spend money on things that will not help them PUT more money in their pocket.

If you can help your clients, I mean really help them, you will make it. If not, go home, you are just wasting time.


Marketing has to take a turn also. Yes, Wright Place TV is doing more marketing than ever before. Why? Because marketing works. If you are not going to spend money promoting your business and learning how to promote your business, then take your ball and go home. You are not in business, you have a hobby. This is not a hobby show or blog.

Also, the recession proof businesses are STILL recession proof. Yes, women still buy make up and get their hair done. Men still spend money on sports and things they love.

People still spend is what I am trying to say. You need to find YOUR hungry pond and fish in it. In March I have more travel, speaking and good stuff coming up. I am traveling to Atlanta to be a guest on a TV show, Santa Barbara to be on a panel for International Women’s Day and Italy to see how I can expand in Europe.

I’ll let you know what is happening on the European front!
